Commission Awareness Month
Back in May I spoke about the progress of the Parish Pastoral Council and all of the great things that the Commissions and Ministries have accomplished over the last two years. Since that time the commissions and their ministries continue to work hard at developing programs and activities that support and identify the needs of the parishioners.

During the month of October we will once again highlight the four commissions Education, Spiritual Life, Human Concerns and Parish Life. Each week a commission will be showcased in Shea Hall after each of the masses. As parishioners you will have an opportunity to preview each of the commissions and the various ministries.

Our goal is to grow the St. Julian community through increased participation in the ministries. In order to grow the community of faithful and create increased participation and expansion of activities and services we need additional participation. The more parishioner involvement the more St. Julian can offer to the community. We invite you to join us each Sunday to take a look and see what each of the commissions has to offer. Understanding that in today’s busy world it can be difficult to find time and commitment to be involved in Church ministry. So whether you can help on a full time or part time basis or as needed we welcome your participation. I look forward to seeing you after the masses.

Thank you.

Dan Storto
Chairperson, Parish Pastoral Council

MISSION
The Parish Pastoral Council of St. Julian Eymard, as a community of believers, guided by the holy spirit, seeks to coordinate and support the efforts of parish ministries in identifying and serving the needs of the parishioners and neighbors. We commit to sharing our love of God through spiritual life, human concerns, parish life and education.

EDUCATION
The Education Commission offers many ministries devoted to our continuing journey with Christ. The various ministries are designed to meet the needs of all parishioners through education, evangelization, stewardship and worship. The Education Commission works with the parish’s School of Religion to provide education to children and adults alike.

HUMAN CONCERNS
The Human Affairs Commission provides a supportive presence in the St. Julian Parish community. Members serve others by focusing on the parish’s response to the needs of the economically poor, the disabled, the marginal and the fragile, the victims of loss, those bereaved by death and the most defenseless among us – the unborn.
