MISSION
Our mission is to enable the members of St. Julian to be the active presence of our Lord Jesus Christ in our local community. The Parish Life Commission exists to build community at St. Julian and foster a strong sense of belonging among our parishioners.

The ministries of the Parish Life Commission offer a great opportunity for you to get more involved in the St. Julian community and grow as a disciple of Christ. You can become as involved as your availability will allow. You don’t have to worry about making a huge time commitment. Your participation can be as simple as helping at a single event.

ACTIVITIES
The ministries within the Parish Life Commission create numerous social activities throughout the year that allow our parishioners to develop strong, positive relationships with each other and with the members of our broader community.

THE ALBERT CARDINAL MEYER KNIGHTS OF COLUMUS COUNCIL 9751
This group serves the men of the St. Julian and Queen of the Rosary parishes. The Knights of Columbus is an active volunteer organization that raises awareness for needy causes and generates funds to support a variety of charitable activities. There are many opportunities for men to grow through the Knights’ five areas of service – faith, community, family, youth, and fellowship. The contact person for the Knights Council 9751 is Jeff Amour: 847-593-7698.

THE NEW PARISHONER WELCOMING MINISTRY
This ministry works to ensure new parishioners feel our hospitality and are warmly welcomed to the St. Julian family. This group contacts new parishioners to welcome them to the St. Julian community and offers them friendship, direction, and support. The contact person for the New Parisioner Welcoming Ministry is Nancy Stazyznski: 847-895-4260.

THE PARISH PICNIC COMMITTEE
This comittee plans and produces the annual Parish Picnic. This year’s picnic was held in the evening and became the Parish Block Party. This was a well-attended party with great food, music, games, fun, and fellowship. The committee members did a fantastic job this year raising funds so that parishioners could attend the Block Party at no cost. Kevin Swan chairs the committee and is its contact person: 847-524-8657.

OUR SOCIAL SUNDAY MINISTRY
This ministry holds frequent welcoming receptions in Shea Hall after mass. These receptions offer refreshments and a friendly atmosphere for parishioners to congregate and get to know each other. Our Social Sunday receptions provide a great opportunity to grab a delicious snack and make a new acquaintance before leaving weekly mass. Anyone interested in volunteering to help should contact Don Voght at 847-846-3406.

THE WOMEN'S COUNCIL
This council offers a wide variety of spiritual development, community service, and social programs for the women of our parish. Programs range from an annual Women’s Retreat to Christmas Angels which provide gifts for needy families to a Bake Sale, a Bunco Party, and a St. Patrick’s Pot Luck Dinner. All women are invited to join the Women’s Council and/or to participate in any of their many activities. The contact person for the Women’s Council is Ana Schumann: 847-985-0065.
