Each year the Office for Catechesis and Cardinal Francis George honor catechetical leaders who have made a significant contribution in their parish. This year Ron Mattey, Confirmation Coordinator, was selected as an honoree at the May 2006 Catechetical Ministries Awards Banquet. Ron has been a catechist at St. Julian Eymard for 21 years. He has coordinated the preparation program for the Sacrament of Confirmation for 14 years. Ron has been instrumental in broadening the program with quality retreat/spirit day opportunities for the students as well as enriching our curriculum, class meetings, speakers, stewardship initiatives and reception of the Sacrament of Reconciliation before Confirmation. Sixth Grade students spread holiday cheer caroling at Alexian Village last December. Fifth Grade students helped build our Peace Garden.

SCHOOL OF RELIGION MISSION STATEMENT To advance the reign of God at Saint Julian Eymard Church by helping parents, catechists and the parish community provide joyful growth in the Catholic faith for the young people in our parish family. REGISTRATION Classes begin in September and end in April. Registration for Saint Julian Eymard School of Religion takes place in late May throughout June. All currently enrolled families will receive registration by mail. Families with children new to the program are invited to stop by the School of Religion Office for information and registration materials. During the summer months, we invite people to the catechetical ministry. Please pray for your call to this most important ministry. Catechists help the families of our parish pass on the basic teachings and practices of our Catholic faith and the rich traditions of prayer and worship.
